WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

It all started with a want for MORE OPTIONS when it comes to meat alternatives. 

Yes there are 'healthier' meat sausages out there - but that doesn't help if you're trying to cut down on meat...

 

...and yes there are tonnes of veggie sausages out there - but they are often made with soy protein, processed ingredients and taste like old shoes.

So I thought why can't we have a flexi-sausage? HEALTHY, HALF VEGGIE AND REALLY TASTY. 

 SURELY IT CAN'T BE THAT HARD? 

Our first sampling session at the local library in Tooting! We got lots of hungry mums, dads and toddlers to try our sausages for the very first time. 

Developing a new product from scratch in a small home kitchen isn't easy, but we love a challenge!

SO... WHY FISH SAUSAGES?

As a seafood lover and as a self-proclaimed 'healthy-eater' these days I often substitute meat for fish. Partly for the nutritional benefits, partly because of animal welfare and partly for environmental reasons. PLUS it tastes good!

And it turns out I'm not the only one! Consumer research studies show a majority of people choose seafood as their protein source when looking for meat-alternatives. 

So I thought, if a sausage can be made out of vegetable protein, why can't it be made out of seafood? 

Add a healthy dose of CHICKPEAS for extra fibre, nutrition and some natural plant-based protein - and we're off!

 OKAY SO IT TURNS OUT IT IS QUITE HARD TO MAKE A SAUSAGE 

 BUT WE'RE GETTING THERE!
